Walao I cabbed to school today and after missing the 15minute-mark for Journalism I saw the polyclinic doctor to get mc DAM WASTE TIMEEEE. There's chalet tonight!! HAHAHAHAA my post is super incoherent. Bumped into Jiahui and Darren Kui on the bus today and they were suggesting what I should tell the doctor HAHAHA. Darren also told me dam hilarious things about Ben Goh wtheck! I talked the doc out of giving me medicine LOLLS because then the fees would be what $30+++. I think Darryl and I walked in and out of Business Concourse like 4 or 5 times because we kept making detours haiya open house was really rowdy.
Jar of Hearts and the Hiphop people danced really well today like the best it could ever get and I love the new costumes. FUCK and do you know today is Miyazaki's birthdayayayayay!!!! There's so many things I'd like to do but everything is in my laptop -___- Including Law. So there.

So many things to do; will be choreographing my dance in the car ): Hope you lot had a Merry Merry Christmas (: Things have been looking up since I stepped back into Singapore tonight, and I hope though my holiday will be shorter than my family's, Malacca will nonetheless be a place worthy to spend my last few days of 2010.

Haha Melly Kwismas everyone! My day didn't get off to a very good start but I should be leaving for Malaysia soon.

I went to a Catholic church for the firstime ever and you won't imagine why.. it's because I wanted to meet YuQuan before New Year and he happened to be accompanying Noel to church. That's not the point. You know why Noel wanted to go to Holy Trinity Church?
BECAUSE HE WANTED TO SING FELIZ NAVIDAD HAHAHAHAHA ridiculous!!
Anyways in short I felt really uncomfortable in mass because it makes me feel like God is a very distant and abstract figure ahahaha I don't know.......
We did alot of strange things like YuQuan's phone rang twice and he kept singing in Falsetto; alot of people stared.. we also wondered what would happen if someone burped very loudly at all the inappropriate moments. Someone totally puked right outside the door and we were guessing what he had for dinner from the color of his barf.

After we completed our mission of singing Feliz Navidad [the congregation was so big but only YQ and I were singing loool] we left to eat supper it was already Christmas because it was Midnight Mass.. I am never doing that again man.

Just downloaded The September Issue! (: You know the past 3 movies I watched [Going the Distance, Wild Child, Yes Man] I cannot remember which girl is the main character of which movie LOLOLOL I suck at this. Like I keep thinking Zooey Deschanel is the girl in Going the Distance and Drew Barrymore is the actress in Yes Man ARRRRR.

Anyways yesterday I was supposed to go for dance practice at school, then come home, but Huilin and Wanling told me about the BR8KOUT dance battle at Zirca!! Effectively I went to school to dance the routine twice then left for home and met Huilin again at Clark Quay HAHA. We were on the same train and didn't even know.
I'm pretty glad I had gone last night because it was humorous at afew points [spontaneous dancing/improvisation to mixed tracks] and we really got to see skill from dancers all over Singapore. Also the lighting was pretty cool and different from usual so I quite like the photos I got last night (:

Mmmm yeh today I tried Thomas' mutton soup for the first time, at Bedok Hawker! Darn cool do you have a boss who sells mutton soup by day and icecream by night??! Can I just say something, DOESN'T THIS PEANUT LOOK LIKE A FREAKING MINI POTATO TO YOU??!?! I'm still dam amused by it because I know I am never going to come across another peanut like that again LOLOLOL I should have framed it up! And they thought I was high that's why it seemed so fascinating to me but fact is I want to eat potato peanuts all my life!! Dam cute la HAHAHAHAHA

The night was PERFECT ok. Except the texts that came at like 5am but I got that sorted when I went home in the day! Dam siao I didn't sleep and instead ran off for the shoot and work straight after. I wanted to collapse at like 3-4pm but I was super energetic at night!

Yepp anyways I've been thinking love doesn't always have to be embodied by a bunch of red roses, a tight hug or a long kiss. Love could just sitting around with a few friends, laughing at each other's experiences, and trying out the most outrageous things together. I'm sure though the people there that night may not have mentioned it, they feel about the same way as I do about our time spent together. It was simple and we had each other's company, which made me feel rather complete. It's nice to know we share something, and that everybody has some things in common.

I loved the unforgettable Thursday night, Jill, Min, Matt, Ben, Brenda and Darryl. (: Despite the spooky stories. The video, the photoboothing, the hairgel, the stargazing, the songs, the peanuts, the beer, the guitar, the laughter, ntuc, the high-fives with our feet. Thanks Matt for having us over!

Wanted to blog about something regarding the supernatural but decided against it, considering I am surfing the net in a pitch-dark room next to a sleeping sister. I don't feel tired at all but I want to sleep! Last night I was hoping to sleep some at Matt's but we were so jumpy then we even jumped to ghost stories and learning Tecktoniks from Ben in, if I may add, THE FUNNIEST WAY EVER IMAGINABLE.

Then Damien said on twitter that Mac's Samurai Burger [LOLOL] sucks "might as well buy a big mac" but I think I should try it might be great as well (:

Tuesday night I slept like 4 hours to prepare for MMP, then yesterday night Pie, Thongzz, Darryl, Brenda, Jach, Ben, Jill and I went to Cuscaden > Darryl's > Ben's!!

It was a crazy night la HAHAHAHA the bus ride to Darryl's we were singing at the back of the top deck at the top of our voices and Jill kept insisting on singing the Israeli national anthem for us! WE SANG SO MUCH BACKSTREET BOYS LMAO and the people sitting in front kept looking back. Those downstairs could hear us also XD Brenda said we were going to appear on Stomp HAHAHAHAHAHA

All in all I had about 3 hours of sleep before heading to school for law presentation. It took forever and quite afew unfortunate things happened. My phone died when I left home, the presentations were taking FOREVERRR [we were last to present], I knocked my funnybone so hard on the lecture theater chair it still hurts now ): Well things have to take a turn for the better tonight because we're heading over to Matt's place to stayover! I hope I don't collapse in exhaustion; shoot with Waiyan is at 10am tomorrow, then working straight after.

Need to sort out my schedule and money. Hahahahaha randomly bought two pairs of boots just the other day and I'm luvin em!

Xiexie Sansha for the super sturdy hardcore dancewear seriously lolls I remember how the leather shoes used to last FOREVER with no holes and it's much cheaper than Bloch as well! I hope this pair of foot thongs last me long long. They're comfier than the ones I got before this as well.
And just for old times' sake I bought a leotard today; I know this sounds ridiculous and is not an excuse to splurge mindlessly but I really miss the smell of brand new leotards. Like uh elasticky and slightly woody smell I don't know how to describe it. And every leotard from any shop has that smell. I remember how Mum got me my first leotard flown all the way from England and it had the exact. same. smell.

I really don't like the way things are going. Can somebody just slow time down? Whatever happened to enjoying what we do? I do try but everything is paced in such a way that one thing tumbles in after another. Is this what they call growing up? Losing life a day at a time?
It could be so different. When I dance, I want to be a dancer. Not a Mass Comm student trying to hand in a huge assignment by 9am the next day but brushing up a choreography the night before. And that is what's going to happen tomorrow.
When I work at an icecream shop, I want to be an icecream person. I want to talk to customers at ease and serve them at best. Learn to be quick in my mind and with my hands, offer something greater than is expected of me. But rather than expanding, I'm starting to look inwardly. I've started wondering okay what am I doing at work on a day like this? It's raining, who is going to eat our icecream? I want time to myself, I want time to spend with friends I haven't seen in ages. I want icecream. I want, I want, I want. That's selfish and I hate to see myself fall prey to that.

But I really miss all of you who I used to hang out with. One thing I'm glad for is that I never took my time with you for granted. I used to think, "Okay next week, I'll sleepover" or "Next week, I can attend your party" or "Next week, we can go have dinner" or "Next week, we can go shoot".

Just when is next week coming? I don't want to say goodbye to December before it's even begun. I have so, so, so many photos to upload, from way back in commbased to events from this very week. Just what am I doing? As much as I love my life right now, things have got to change for the better. Starting with the Scatterbrain Syndrome.

Been working all night to keep my mind from wandering. My imagination scares me sometimes. I wanted to come home, bathe, play some guitar and crashhh but maybe I could use that plan for tomorrow instead since I came home with Media Management Principles and plenty of photos to edit and upload for school/tpde. What should I do? 24 hours doesn't seem enough. My right big toe is crazy sore from that open blister which was internally bleeding at dance lastnight then I went to the toilet to poke it with a safety pin it looked like a nosebleed and Brenda wanted me to video it all.

Idk I feel like I'm not cut out for studio shoots. I don't remember ever feeling this awkward infront of the camera. The super glaring lights, the cold, the makeup. I thought it was loads, but on the screen it turned quite mild. Guess I may need some time to warm up to it.

Today everybody's tweets were about the weather being a bitch and when I found it to be truly unbearable, I went for a swim downstairz now I smell of chlorine. Was supposed to meet Venus and get film but she was busy and couldn't make it awwww. To Cuscaden with Jill, Brenda, Nick and Pie this evening! (: It's been a rather long while.

Sidetrack: I'm finally done with Season One of How I Met Your Mother every episode is really short and passes quickly!! Sadly imo it got less funny towards the later episodes. Barney is delightful ^^

I went for O School Recital today. It was mind-blowing, inspiring, better than perfect. I particularly liked the item Nathan was in - the Chinese zombie one. Rather morbid I know, but it was immensely fun to watch. Also, I love that I was able to see Li Tying before she went onstage!! A picture with her would be nice to have but we didn't think of snapping one ): till I got home ): HAHA ohwell.

Definitely the night was of more value than could ever be summed up in a picture.

I've eaten orange and yellow sweet potatoes, but not purple!! Kinda brightened my morning purple's been my favourite colour since forever [cheap thrill I know]! Then I wondered if it could be the filling for the D-plus bun bun I bought last week

It's a new flavor if I'm not wrong. HAHAHAHHA I bought it because it was purple and not because of anything else. Like the time I bought Yam Pau becuase it was purple XD It tasted like alcohol!! OMGAHHH this is random but I just checked out Uncle Charlie's kids' blogs; Priscilla's cakes and Paul's photography only got better and better since the lastime I had a visit!! Soooo gooood lookie @ Priskcakes and paulkzk, some amazing stuff they've got there (': Pris is younger than me but she bakes so well; super admire her for it! I MEAN LOOK AT THAT she got a shop running for definitely more than a year and is coping so well omgawd RESPECK.
And Paul also dropped by our house to eat durians last year hahahahahaha before he went on and continued to conquer the 7 tallest mountains in the world. He's climbed 5 already and his eventual goal is to conquer Mount Everest [last out of the seven].
I'm super moved by their persistence to chase their dreams even while we are merely teenagers. And these are things some adults don't even have the patience/capacity/time to do.

I think people are often struck down by circumstances, but what drives us all and keeps our hearts and minds to what we set out to achieve, is Passion. Sometimes the strength to carry on does not come from within ourselves, but from those around us and whom we hold dear to us. Some people are situated in our lives and ours specifically. Some walk in and out of our lives all too soon, like actors entering stage right and exiting stage left all in a minute - but these play a part in who we are this very day. This I am still trying to grasp and understand, so I can be a light and not a burden; to run alongside those in pursuit of dreams bigger than what the mind can ever behold.

Also, I'm working tomorrow from 1pm to midnight and I'm darn excited because so many friends are coming to visit tomorrow!! None of my friends have come down to Lick but my bro has visited meee!

I had rice for dinner at home and headed out [downstairs] to eat prata bomb, cheese mushroom prata, banana prata, teh cino and mutton soup with Darryl, Joelynn and Andrew ya my brother Andrew. It actually started when Darryl randomly texted and asked if I wanted to hang. Then straight after, Joelynn called to ask if we could hang. Since it was just downstairs, I asked my bro along as well heheh.

After prata we went to eat rocher tauhuey it was very awesome!! I didn't know grass jelly tasted so good on its own :PpP

We had 126 Dimsum after that, wasn't expecting to eat this much but ahhhwell. Had a good and proper chat with Darryl after our supper. All in all tonight was quite enjoyable; I think Andrew and I managed to convince Joelynn to watch Gumiho ^^! Working tomorrow from 5pm onwards and I SWEAR the nextime I'm working in the afternoon I will bring lots of things to occupy myself with since the cafe is empty and quiet at that time everyday!
I've been working hard and thinking very little, I must admit ): My shoot with Jon is on Tuesday, I hope it goes well. No it must go well. Then WY asked me for a favor as well and I'll go down if i have the time. It's crazy how little time I'm spending around people these days - I wonder how time passes so darn fast sigh

Sleepy from scooping icecream, washing plates, making mix-ins, sweeping the floor, mopping the floor. Not to mention my contacts were overdue and made my eyes so dry the entire day ):
But my third day of work was a great experience, seeing that I can now scoop icecream with my left hand, and that I now know the mix-in technique! It's a great environment where everyone is willing to help guide me along. I hate the cash register, though. It never, EVER shows the right figure for me and leaves me attempting in vain to calculate how much 2 regular scoops + 1 waffle + 2 double-scoops + 1 crepe costs OH MY GAWD give me a break. Pfffft

Anyway I'm dog-tired have I mentioned? Currently skimming through all 2,210 photos from Watcha Got!! I hope I can find some inspirational stuff in there (: I know I will. Then I will edit the selected ones and upload woooo long way to go. I wish I could skip right to the last step, the finishing product haha! Ah well. It will be worth my time!

Tomorrow is another whole day at Lick. I love it, surprisingly. I love the freedom, I love slack hours and wartime [icecream buffet lolls], it's great to observe people from a different light. Instead of being the customer, I'm the one cleaning up and closing the shop at midnight for once. See how people give you so much more respect than you deserve, and how others merely require your service and would otherwise have nothing to do with you.

OMGAWD Gumiho kinda killed me. I'm not sure if I really like it or if I'm going to watch it again someday but it did leave a lasting impression. It involves the supernatural which freaked me out a little but at the same time added an element that no other drama has.
Anywayyy it's time to get back down to Earth after 16 episodes! Was quite good use of my time I'll admit (:

I sprained my ankle lastnight, while walking out of school after dance. So lucky right!! Hahaa lucky I didn't sprain it before dance. I got the hang of like 45% of the choreography this week, as opposed to last week's -10% or something hahahaha. For now I have to watch my ankle and make sure it doesn't turn into a persistently-clicking joint because it's really relaly important to me!! Sigh I thought it'd be better this morning but it got more sore. What was I thinking

This is from my first day of work at Lick. Scooping icecream is more difficult than you think ok, I'm going to start scooping with my left hand from now on. Jill was of great great help, wouldn't have a single clue what to do without her! Made waffles, mix-ins, milkshakes and whatnot. Work is great when you have a companion, especially one like Jill! The music in the cafe is her ipod so we had all sorts like WARP and the XX's mmmmm.
On the whole it was busier and more tedious than I had expected, but guess this would be nothing without an element of challenge! Yeh. The icecream is great stuff, if there was some other job out there that paid the same but had nothing to do with icecream, that would be a no-go.
Oh and if you're wondering what is in the cup, it's ummm Honey Lavender [purple], Frosty Watermelon [pink], Lychee [white], Apple Cinnamon [green] and Sour Plum [beige] LOLLS. I was determined to try all the flavors that day; wouldn't really go for an entire scoop of Sour Plum but the rest was lovely (: My next day of work is Saturday and Nick and Joanne are coming to visit, hopefully!!

Jean-cutting success! I've added 3 pairs of denim shorts to my collection and have 7 pairs more to add. Really glad I decided not to acid-wash this pair because the texture turned out great. I start work this evening from 7pm till closing at 11pm. Lolls dress code is a plain top [I only have one, our Modern 5 costume] so I stole my brother's gray tee!

Meeting YuQuan at parkway now. I've made a decision lastnight to cut down my time on the computer for personal reasons [actually I'm too lazy to go into detailed explanation]! Oh and yesterday I met up with YuQuan, Raymond, Jerry and Ms O (: It was quite a well-spent night, considering how it all ended on a high note! We are helping Ms O with revamping essay compilation this year.

I've been working really odd jobs since last November - shooting for wedding ROM, dancing for weddings, choreographing for Hai Sing and SMU, and most recently, acting like a paparazzi hahahaha. Last night I got me a proper job at Lick, which is in Katong! I said I migggghhhht want to work here and Jill told her boss "My friend wants to apply" HAHAHAHAHA dam efficient la, went to see her wash toilet it was hilarious.

Yesterday was my second visit at her workplace when I decided I wanted to work and I'm ultra ultra excited for it. :DDD Wouldn't be half as excited if I were working alone. They've really interesting flavors like Kaya Toast, Earl Grey and Lavender haha!

My Ginger Ale and soda, Hilary's caramel corn, our marshmallow cookies, my pepper chicken noodles [THEY ROCK] as recommended by Matt.

Yes you read it right - Melon-flavored soda with yoghurt in a can. I tried for the fun of it, and it turned out really nice! Very errrr super fizzy pungent at first gulp but it gets better.

Last night was my worst night in a long while. Tossing and turning in bed I kept telling myself that today would be a better day, and that things can and will change.

I texted Joanne:
"Joanne I feel so weird right now. Tell you tmr" and she replied, "Can you please tell me now, don't keep me in suspense" a typical reply I would give to any friend who texted me in the middle of the night.
Things will get better. We have to believe so. I just need time to see things in a different light.

There is one thing to be thankful for, though.

Yesterday I remember I was feeling a little blue because I can't freestyle. Not in hiphop, at least. But this afternoon I'm thinking about what Xephry said about being Jack of all trades but master of none. He was talking about focusing on one genre [your primary] rather than investing half of your energy and attention in hiphop and half in modern, in turn ending up just mediocre/"barely making it" at both genres, but rather knowing you're "dope" at one of them hahahahahaa.

Makes sense, bo? Guess that's exactly what I'm going to do. Need to brush up on my modern but but that doesn't mean I can't keep trying hiphop at the same time. I will try but not when it's obvious I will embarrass myself LOLOLOL. Yeh oh my gawd I sucked. Hopefully Marcus, Hector and JJ [if I do see him] would be willing to teach me technique. Yes can one! HAHAHAHAHAHAA LAUGHED MY ARSE OFF when I saw this on Jill's phone!! This was the day we stayed over at his house last week! If I'm not wrong we went for Starbucks and sang and played the guitar all night. I was sick and Jill said "If you sleep please wake up soon so we can play" and I couldn't fall asleep because of my cough, then in the end JILL was the one who fell asleep till 6am HAHAHAHA. I'm still at TPDE chalet now, going to meet Hil for Shitty Plaza later!

It is a joyous occassion, you bless this person and wish him or her the very best as they face new and unexpected challenges amidst the existing complexities of life.
I consider myself fortunate to have grown up in an environment where it is a family tradition to grab a cake, have it cut, sing 2 versions of the birthday song, make three wishes and share one.
I was dismayed to find my birthday falls on a full dress rehearsal for our upcoming dance concert this year. But at the very least, I thought, Monday would be extraordinary. I may not have the time to meet Joelynn, Hilary, Iris, Jillian, YuQuan, Nick, or Aruna, but at the very least, after a long day at dance, I would come home to feel a rush and flurry to cut the cake before midnight. With my dad, my mum, my sister and brother - these people I call Family.

I guess my birthday is nothing much to shout about. On the Eighteenth of October 2010, I learnt that home may not necessarily be where the heart is, after all.

TPDE gave me 3 lovely surprises. I was surprised with a humble-looking slice of cake illuminated with a single candle, the uproar and the unashamed singing of the birthday song by my dancemates in the middle of the coffeeshop. It was thunderous, but there was so much more I was not looking out for. I made a wish for everyone who was there tonight, and blew out the candle. Then came the moment that changed everything; somebody whipped out a large round chocolate coated cake gleaming in the breeze of a gloomy night with eight candles; one fat and seven skinny. Naturally I brought my hand to my mouth to muffle the screaming. The tears that made my wide smile glisten even more than ever. The laughter I heard in a distance. The love that I felt, despite troubles that clouded my sky and made my heart sink to the pit of my guts.

Another surprise, one that took place earlier was when Joanne Aruna shouted, "Hey, today is Alex's birthday, can we all sing her a song?" Let me tell you things that registered in my mind within that poignant moment. The smiles, their beautiful voices in unison, their applause and their hugs. Naturally I brought my hand to my mouth to muffle the screaming. Roaring waves crashed over my helpless being. There I sat in the middle of the stage, in the midst of a sea of people, dancers alike. Tears, tears, so many tears. Shu Xiang came up to me and asked, "Alex, why are you crying? Are you so happy??"

"No, I'm sad.."

Sad because the love that your friends have for you is withstanding but can never replace that of your parents. Sad because friends come and go, but family is for ever. When you are born into this world, you can choose your friends, but you cannot choose your family. It did not feel like a birthday, at all. It hurts to know that the Eighteenth of October was such a big day to me that I had appeared insignificant in your eyes.

I wish things had not turned out this way. Supposing I had heeded what you said in the afternoon, would it even have been a Birthday, let alone a Happy Birthday? Woah I cried so so badly today and not just once. I don't remember crying this badly since the beginning of this year.

My twenty-four hours is up. Hence ends the most anticipated but in a sense the worst birthday of my life; I turned Seventeen.

Just got back! Dog tired and heading out to buy birthday presents, then my second night ever at Cuscaden and finally staying over at Matt's with Jillian and Nick. We could stay up all night, jamming and singing and laughing and creating underwear jokes but I'm so dead after a four-hour sleep and an even longer session of dance [starting 9am today]. Darryl turned me into a pirate lastnight HAHA. Then I gave up on waiting for Torrent and left it on as I slept.
I woke up late, at 8am I guess due to the fact that my cough, as usual, was keeping me from sleeping.

My mum helped me arrange an appointment to have my back checked because they didn't pick up tha phone. It was initially on the 18th of October, Monday. Full-dress rehearsal and coincidentally my birthday. I said nononononono then today I found she'd changed it [ I wanted to get it done by myself -_____- ] for me to 20th October, Wednesday. The day of performance itself.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA MOTHERS. I will have to get that figured.

I remember feeling was thrilled for vetting today, and rightfully, seeing how things turned out. Today all I remember telling myself was "MIND OVER HEART. LOGIC OVER EMOTIONS" HAHAHAHAA whuttttt aisey where did I get all that from huh. Then again I wasn't feeling much because it was just something that reminded me of the past. I've ever known this feeling. And it's okay because I don't remember dying.

Oh my goodness I am so tired I am blogging in a tired voice do z you zZ hear zzZ it zz in zzZ your z head zZ like zzZ I zzZ do? I love the way things are, and I owe it to so many people for changing my life everyday without even knowing it.

HAHAHAHAHAHAA thanks a billion to Serene, Kim, Cheryl, Nat and Canice for the birthday treat!! Iris also had her nails done as a treat that day! HAHAHAHAA ohman I feel so gay.. It was an awesome awesome day ok the day I treated myself to tangyuan at night because the night was SO DARN BAD but it's over now, I will and must meet Iris for her/my/our birthday celebration after dance performance which is coming Wednesday!

I wanted so badly to lie down next to her on the couch, to wrap my arms around her and sleep. Just sleep together, in the most innocent sense of the phrase. But I lacked the courage and she had a boyfriend and I was gawky and she was gorgeous and I was hopelessly boring and she was endlessly fascinating. So I walked back to my room and collapsed on the bottom bunk, thinking that if people were rain, I was drizzle and she was a hurricane.
